A country dining village pub

Long walks, bar snacks, beer & dogs.... special occasions, sunday roast & large celebrations... a quiet dinner, lazy lunch, big fires & summer days ... classic cars, live music & quizzes .... there really is something for everyone at The Old George Ickleford

With tremendous charm & character, the Old George has been tastefully refurbished into a cosy country dining village pub. We have a 'Lounge bar' which is our main area, featuring an impressive inglenook fireplace, notably famous for Dick Turpin is reputed to have hidden in the chimney. Here you can prop up at the bar by the fire or sit down to lunch or dinner in our comfortable dining section area. The 'Snug bar' is perfect for large dining groups, a social gathering or just to cosy up by the log burner. Our external areas include a very attractive 'Courtyard' patio garden and a front beer garden sat next to the stunning St Katharine's Church nestled amongst the cedar trees, both secret sun traps for lazy afternoons.

Dogs are welcome at all times, water bowls & biscuits are always on hand, we just ask that they are kept on a lead & don't use the carpeted main dining section. If you're booking a table with us to dine, please mention your canine companion so we can give you a table in our bar or snug area. Alfie the resident cockapoo is generally around to say hello.

Please take a look at our food menus to peruse our fresh food offerings, our events section has full details of what's coming up, our blog page gives you a little more insight behind the scenes and you can join our mailing list or any of social media sites below to be the first in the know!

Whether you're popping in after a long walk with the dog, dining with us, attending one of our events or just propping up the bar, Nicola & the team look forward to welcoming you to our cosy country pub.

Cheers!
